Dear Lucy,
Today was your very first birthday. You are such a big girl! Our first year together has flown by. Only a year ago did you come to us as a very little baby, so helpless and so sweet. Now you have grown up so big and strong. You are crawling like crazy and always following mom into each room as fast as you can. You have taken a few steps, but don’t really care to walk yet. But you love to stand and always stand when you are holding something. You are getting so strong!
You love to eat. You are a bottomless pit! You will never turn down food. And you always make a constant mmmm noise when you eat. You love string cheese, cheerios, cottage cheese, anything. And you love sugar!
You love to take baths. You stay in the bath for about 30 minutes. You love playing with your bath toys and splashing in the water. You love bubbles!
You love to hug your dollys. You cuddle with them, kiss and hug them. You are such a girl. You also feed your new cabbage patch doll her bottle. You are so adorable!
You are such a happy girl. You giggle so hard when we blow on your tummy, tickle your legs, bite your fingers, when you feed us food. You love to share your food with us. You have a cute little personality! We love to dance together.
Today was a fun day! We sung you happy birthday today when you woke up. We are so excited that it’s your birthday. Mom fed you and then you ate breakfast. Then you got to take a bath with bubbles! Mom dressed you and read a book to you and then You took your first nap while mom and dad cleaned, cooked and baked.
At 3, all your friends and family came over while you were asleep. They all wondered where the birthday girl was! We ate dinner, watched your movie and chatted until you woke up. Once you woke up, the party started!!! Everyone said how cute you looked and told you happy birthday. It took you a minute to warm up to everyone, but once you saw Aunt Mindy and Grandma Moss, you were fine.
First you opened your presents. You got so many! You are so loved. You got a ton of new books. Mom is excited to read them to you. You got some cute new outfits and headbands. Grandpa Moss gave you a U of U sock monkey and Uncle Remi gave you a BYU cheerleader outfit. So funny! I think you like the sock monkey better :) Then Grandma and Grandpa gave you a new Minnie Mouse car! YOU LOVE IT! You were smiling so big while dad was pushing you around the house. You had a blast.
After, we took some pictures and then mom got your ready for your cake smash! Dad and mom made a special chocolatey cake just for you. You were slow to eat it at first, but then dad gave you a big bit and then you dug in. You were still very dainty while you ate it and even try sharing some with mom and dad. You are so nice :) You got chocolate all over your face and in your nose. We think you liked it.
We cleaned you up and you played with all of your toys. You had a fun time playing with your cousins too.
So many people came to your party! Grandma and Grandpa Moss, GG Moss, GG Soderberg, the Moss’, Sorenson’s, Erika and Ben came. Grandpa and Grandma Tervort, GG Nona, the Horrocks, Spangler’s, Tervort’s, Emily and Tony and Kaylee came. Also mom’s best friends Ali, Madi, Kaitlyn, MJ and Michelle came too! It was a wonderful day and so many people love you.
We think you are a wonderful little girl, Lucy. You have changed our lives for the best and we thank you every day for putting a smile on our faces. Thank you for being so happy and so smiley. You are so beautiful and so sweet. We love you so much and always will!
