Pioneer Day

Pioneer day was a packed day and a great one. We started the day off by going on a bike ride on the Spanish Fork Trail. Then we met up with Dave and Kathy at the Payson cemetery where they told us stories about our ancestors. It was quite fascinating and so good to spend some quality time with them.

Later, we went to my parents and went swimming then watched School of Rock while watching fireworks in the distance. It was a goooood night. Love these summer days and nights!

Friday fun day

Randomly one Friday, we decided to have a family fun Friday. We let the kids pick what they wanted to do and they chose to go to Provo Beach. We did laser tag, Lucy did the ropes course and we did some games.
Later that day, we invited Grandma Sprinkles with us and went and saw the Days of 47 floats inside the center. It was way better seeing them in the air conditioning than in the parade. We went and supported Remi who made the Murray ward float. He did so amazing! The kids got balloons and candy from the floats.
After, Carolyn treated us to dinner at Bonsai Korean Grill. It was such a fun experience to watch the kids be so entertained by the fire and the guy cooking in front of us. It was good! We went to Carolyns for a minute and chatted. It was such a fun day!

Hot Hurricane

We finally got away to Hurricane this summer! We were so excited to get there and go swimming everyday. However, we went on literally the hottest week of the year. It was 114 degrees. The pool was 104 degrees. It was sooooo hot. We ended up staying in the house most of the time. It was unbearable doing anything outside. We did some shopping, went out to eat a lot and swam in the morning and at night. It was comfortable when the sun was lower.

One day, Jason and Lindsay came over and hung out with us! We went to Big Shots golf where they told us they would cool us down with fans and misters. That did not work. IT was so extremely hot!! We had fun golfing for like an hour before we couldn't stand it anymore. Later we went on a UTV ride up the sand dunes. Even at night, that was hot. We had a fun time swimming that night!

It was still a fun trip to get a way!

Golf golf golf

This summer has been the summer of golf. Since Dan gave me clubs for my birthday, we made use out of them. We probably went 8ish times together. Every single date we went golfing it felt like. Dan is such a great coach and I improved a lot! I love going golfing with him. We did a lot of double dates with friends and one day I went with Ali, Rick and my dad. It was a great summer of golf!

4th of July

July 4th was jam packed! We started the day off by packing up camp and then going to the Mount Pleasant Parade. It was actually super fun this year because they had so many people spraying us with water. THe kids were having a blast! Millie loved getting candy- they are so fun to watch.

After we went home and relaxed for a bit before going to my parents house. We went swimming and then watched an awesome firework show that the neighbors spent $2,000 on. Millie loved the fireworks at first but got sidetracked with all the glow sticks that she kept picking up and handing them to people. It was so cute.

Mount Pleasant

We love going camping at Mount Pleasant. The first day we went to Palisades and did some paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, 9 square and paddle boating. The kids had so much fun with their cousins. Most of the time we hung out at the camp ground, went up to the cabin to do the zip lining, and did some four wheeler rides. The kids were just content to hang out with their cousins. One day we did a hike up a slot canyon. It was pretty challenging to climb over rocks and under rocks to get to the top, but the kids loved that challenge.

Amelia is 2!

21-24 months:

  • She is a busybody. Can’t hold still. She learned to climb up in the counter using the oven. She likes to get in the cabinets and listen to music on the counter.
  • 4/17 She is in a big girl bed! She started climbing out of her crib and sleeping in her book nook. So we decided to take the front of her crib off and she has been sleeping in. It’s so great. I think she is ready for an actual twin size bed.
  • She is talking so well. She say- open me, help, where’s grandma?. so many things! I can understand her most of the time.
  • After listening to the thank you song from Moana Maui says thank you at the end, and Millie replies you’re welcome!
  • Millie has been licking the lamp and saying yummy ice cream. Apparently our lamp looks like ice cream to her.
  • She loves getting her back tickled. When I stop tickling it, she grabs my hand and puts it back on her back.
  • She has become a very picky eater. Her favorite saying is, no I don’t want it! Things she eats are yogurt, cheese sticks, fruit snacks and candy. She’s so hot and cold with everything else.
  • Her and jack have a love hate relationship. Usually he gets in her space and she pulls his hair and hits him.
  • She loves to sing let it go, summer, and twinkle twinkle.

2 years:

  • she loves birthdays! She lit up when everyone sang happy birthday to her.
  • When I was changing her clothes, she grabs my braids and says, “piggies! They’re beautiful mommy”
  • When Lincoln was sad, she recognized it and went over and gave him a hug.
  • She’s got a great scowl. Whenever someone new comes to say hi to her, she hides behind me and scowls at them.
  • Her and jack are the best of friends and the worst enemies. They can be so nice and sweet with each other and then pulling out claws (Millie)
  • Millie is a great car dancer. She likes to do the tongue dance, the shake your head with huge big eyes dance.

Millie’s birthday

It was so fun to celebrate Millie's birthday at the ranch with everyone. The night before I set up Frozen decorations in a corner of the main area. All the kids helped me and were so excited. The next morning, we started the day with opening presents. Millie was SO excited. She loves birthdays. She was so cute and would make the best facials with every gift she opened then she would go give each person a hug.
She played with her toys most of the morning. But later we went swimming because that's what she wanted to do. After, she dressed up in her Frozen elsa dress and the boys pushed her around on her brand new trike from Grandma and Grandpa.

Then we had her birthday party. We played pin the nose on Olaf and then had a Pinata. It was perfect. All the kids participated and cheered on Millie. It was so fun. Later we did a ride up Sound of Music Hill. It was freezing! Then when we got back, we ate dinner and then had cake and ice cream. Millie was so excited when everyone sang happy birthday to her. She enjoyed her cake very much. It was so fun to celebrate with her all day. I love this cute little lady! But she needs to stop growing up.

Saratoga springs temple open house

I love going to Open Houses with my family. We told Jack and Millie to point out if they see Jesus. So in their little voices, they would point out all the pictures and say, "Jesus!" It was so adorable. Lucy and Lincoln were interested in what the endowment room was and what the altar was. It was a good opportunity to tell them about the promises you make in the temple.

Last days of school

I love the last days of school and so do the kids. They had spirit week and dressed up every day. On Monday they had the dance festival. They both did a great job.
On the last day, they stayed for an hour so we just took pictures. Lincoln loved his teacher Mrs. Williams. She is so nice and sweet and he had a great experience at school this year.
Lucy had her favorite teacher yet. Mrs Broadhead is the best! Lucy looked forward to going to school everyday. She raved about her. We are so sad she is moving to a different school.

Bear Lake work trip

Dan and I along with Mindy and Remi decided to take a work trip adults only to the Bear Lake House. We invited Jamie and Brad and Heidi and Ryan to come along so they could give us good reviews. It was a great and productive trip! We finished the big sign, hung up a few more pictures, the boys did a lot of yard work and hung up the swings. There was still a lot of time for play. We tried out our new hot tub, went out to eat, got a raspberry shake and Dan and I went and hit golf balls. We are so lucky that the clubhouse it just walking distance from our house.
Our kids had a blast with Bobby and Haylie again. We are so grateful to them!

Mother’s Day

On Mother's Day, Lincoln and I were feeling so much better! But since we had the flu the day before, Lincoln and I stayed home from church. I was bummed to miss my kids singing to me in Sacrament. But they brought me home sweet gifts.
We went and visited Kathy from afar. It was good to see Dave doing better.
Then we went and said hi to my mom but didn't stay too long cuz I didn't want to get anyone sick. It was a good mother's day, I just wished I could've spent more time with my mom.
But I feel so lucky to have them and to be a mom myself to my awesome kiddos.

Our 12th anniversary

Dan went all out for our 12th Anniversary. He didn't tell me what was going to happen, but he said I had appointments at 12, 2:30 and a date at 6. Well....I woke up and caught the flu bug along with Millie and Lincoln. It was miserable. We felt so crappy. And I felt extra bad, cuz Dan had to reschedule everything.

I was better the next day though and got to enjoy my appointments through the week. First I went to a Float Spa with an oxygen bar. It was very unique and relaxing. The next day I had a massage and facial. It was wonderful.
The other things he had planned we haven't done yet. But he planned for me to go shopping at the riverwoods before we went out to eat at La Jolla Groves. Then after we were going to go to a salt cave. Instead to make up for everything, we've been going on lots of golf dates. He's so wonderful!

Jacks carnival and last day of school

Jack had a preschool carnival a few weeks before school got out. Miss Stacy puts so much work into this! There was a bouncy house, activity stations, a photo booth, treats and drinks and a table of prizes. I got to go and run the photo booth. It was so much fun for Jack (and for Millie). He ran around from place to place and at the end got to pick out 3 prizes. He had a blast!

The end of year program was so cute. Jack learned the states song and was so great at singing it. He had a smile on his face the whole time. He didn't catch on to all the actions or all the words, but he really enjoyed himself. Miss Stacy asked all the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up. Most of the kids said police man. When it was Jack's turn (near the end) he paused and said police man and everyone started to laugh. It was funny. I'm so impressed with all he's learned this year and can't wait to see what he accomplishes next year.
