I absolutely love this place. It is in good ol' Atlanta, Idaho where the population is about 80ish people in the summer and 30 people in the winter. But like I have said before, it is my little
piece of heaven. My Great Grandpa Greene bought this land back in the day. He bought it from Herman Coors of Coors Beer. He has since built the lodge and has created a place that everyone loves.
This year was a little different though. Daniel had to
work all week and couldn't come. It was sad and I missed him a lot! I
still had a great time being with my family and relaxing at the ranch!
This year we meant a lot of townspeople. Leonard, Mary, the Preacher, and...Sharon and Billie. This is their house. It is 100 years old. They live here in the summers and in Boise in the winters. This house was almost burnt down during the big fire a few years back. The fire went around their whole house but did not touch it. Amazing! She gave us a tour of her home and told us a lot of the history of it, the mine and of Atlanta. It was super interesting!
 |
| History of the mine. Miners were only paid $.78 cents an hour! |
 |
| Carolyn, Sharon, and Grandma |
We went swimming! One of our favorite games is playing the glow stick game in the pool!
 |
| Paxton and Dad. Pax isn't a big fan of the water. |
Rhino! So fun to drive around in. Pax loved the rhino rides.
 |
| Cousin Tyson doing his fire poi |
 |
| Sound of Music four wheeler ride. |
Went to Chattanooga! (A natural hot spring. The ranch gets the hot water from here.)
 |
| I don't know why Pax is making that face |
We went shopping. There's one small shop that is full of items that this guy collects (junk). Some of it was interesting. Ben and Erika bought Atlanta t-shirts.
Fishing! Isn't this little lake gorgeous?!
Poor Lilo loves biting the tires of four wheelers when they're moving (not smart) and she got run over :( She still is happy and she learned her lesson.
We visited the jail.
And the cemetery.
We played with the dogs and swung on the swings.
We had a great time! I'm glad I went! But I missed you Dan!
