Thanksgiving

Every year we try to fit in both families for Thanksgiving. It gets busy, but it is fun spending time with both families. First we went to the Tervort Thanksgiving. Lucy loves to play with her cousins. She had fun playing with fake food, coloring, and drawing on the Thankful poster. I liked reading what all the nieces and nephews were thankful for. Bradley wrote "wipd crem" and right next to it little Davey wrote "the Plan of Happiness". haha. Cute kiddos. Dinner was excellent of course! I especially enjoyed the strawberry jello with pretzels :) mmm. Lucy loved it too. Pretty soon after eating, she got restless cuz she missed her nap and would not stop whining. She was so so tired. She got an hour nap as we drove to my parents house. But she did not wake up happy. She didn't want to eat and said her tummy hurt. All she wanted to do was play with Grandma. That made her a little more happy. She got happier as the night went on. She played with Jake and played swords with Aunt Erika and Uncle Ben. She had a fun night, but also was ready to go to bed.
We are very thankful for our families, the gospel and yummy food! Happy Thanksgiving!

Do you wanna build a snowman?

I've been so excited for it to snow. I was so happy when it finally did. It was like Lucy was seeing it for the first time. She was so excited to go out and play in it. We bundled her up in her last year's snow coat (thankfully it still fit) and put her boots on her. She could barely move and it was adorable. Reminded me of The Christmas Story kid. Daniel bought a couple of sleds from WalMart on his way home from work, so we took them for a ride behind our house. Luckily we have a pretty great hill for sledding. Lucy loved going down the hill and kept saying "again" and "more". I love that she loved it because last year she wasn't so sure. After a few times sledding down the hill, we stopped and made snow angels and caught snow flakes on our tongues. Then we decided to make Lucy's first snow man in the front of our house. We used rocks for the eyes and mouth and sticks for the nose and arms. It was a little freaky looking, but Lucy loved it. She loved it so much that she gave it a hug. I think the first day in the snow was a success. Can't wait to take her to the cabin!

Food Drive

Every year, my family gets the opportunity to do a "big give" through our foundation, Moss Family Foundation. This year, I got to include my youth in my ward. We all went to WalMart and chose food to give to the food bank for families in need for Thanksgiving. I made a game out of it so it would be more fun for them. I gave them a list of food items to get plus bonus items to get if they had time. I gave them 30 minutes to shop. Well, within 7 minutes, the first group was done. Within 15 minutes, the rest of the girl groups finished. And when time was up, the boys teams all finished. It was funny that the boys all finished last. We all went through one line and I had each kid guess the final total. I think they all had fun with it.
My plan after was to just take the food to the food bank in Provo, but then found out Daniel's school was doing a food drive. I decided to donate the food to the Special Needs class that my friend teaches so they could win the drive and get a pizza party! They were so excited!
