New Year’s Eve

On new years eve we were going to have our annual party but of course we got sick and don’t want to share our germs. We were very low key and staying home, watch fireworks on the tv and celebrated the new year early with the kids. We still drank sparkling cider (out of medicine cups) and had an awesome dance party. 

The hard from the year:

- Dave’s cancer came back and he has to get a liver transplant.

- my appendix burst

- lots of sickness. Millie had rsv. Jack had croup a ton. I swear we were sick once a month. 

- gas prices went up and overall inflation.

The good from the year:

- Dave found a liver donor. We are so grateful to Tommy. 

- my ruptured appendix was protected by a mass.

- we were extremely blessed financially through my grandparents inheritance and the generosity of my parents. 

- baby Charlie was born in May and sylvie in June. 

- Millie learning to walk and turning one. 

- Good family relationships.

- We won proposition 2 which kept our schools in the alpine district. 

Christmas 2022

Christmas day was packed! We got up at 7:30, we woke up the kids, read our nativity book and took a picture on the stairs. Millie was not very happy, but quickly warmed up when she saw baby stroller from Santa. Santa brought Jack a truck toy hauler toy, lincoln a megalodon race car, and Lucy, an automatic, knitting loom. Dan and I spoiled them Of course, we got Millie, a doll and clothes. Jack and Lincoln got an automatic Nerf guns and dan built them a gun wall. Lucy got a microscope and clothes. The biggest hit were these little game boys that dad got them off of a Chinese website.

After gifts, my parents came over for breakfast. Then we all went to church together. Lucy sing a cello in front of the whole congregation. She sang the first verse of when we seek him. She did incredible! She is so brave!

After church, we rushed to the Tervorts. All of us were there, all 50 of us and then it was crowded. We open gifts that Dave and Kathy got us. Then ate food. It was good to all be together. The cousins always love playing together. After reading memories, we went straight to the moss. We ate more food than we sang the nativity song as the kids held up pictures. After we open gifts by age, starting with the youngest. It was fun to watch each kid and see what they got. We gave my parents a new canvas at the family picture. And they gave us something extra nice that we did not expect. We’ve been hugely blessed this year from getting my grandma‘s inheritance ticketing some money from my parents. I feel like we are set for life. Christmas was so good! It was so fun to see Millie so excited and happy. 

Christmas Eve

This year Christmas Eve was a little different since Erika couldn’t come my parents decided to get together on Christmas night. We started the day off with going sledding at Oak Canyon. We had a blast. The kids went down over and over again. Even Millie went down a few times by herself it was entertaining. After we got a surprise visit from Santa Claus! All the kids were very excited to see him, even Millie seemed excited. He handed out fun sunglasses and beards for everyone to wear, and each one of them sat on his lap and told him what they wanted for Christmas. after we got ready and met Tony, Kaylee, families, and Dave and Kathy in the parking lot of festival of lights. We ate pizza and drink hot chocolate. Then most of the kids piled into Dan’s truck and we went through the festival. They loved experience and get back there, and Millie loves, sticking her head out the window we were going to do gingerbread houses together after, but Annie was sick so we went home but the kids in bed and prepped everything for tomorrow. Luckily we were done by 11 o’clock. 

Tervort and moss Christmas parties

The tervort party. This year we had it at a church and it was so nice to be spread out we ate and then Santa came. Jack was really excited this year, but Millie was not after we had a white elephant exchange. We bought an old people kit that Kathy ended up stealing it was funny.

The moss party. My parents rented out KTR for the cousin party this year. it was a blast! We jumped on trampolines skated in the skate park, did obstacle courses and swung on the trapeze. All of our inner child came out. It was so fun to play with the cousins!
