Easter 2020

We had a very good Easter! I made a yummy breakfast then the kids got their Easter baskets. They each got bubbles, treats and a small toy. Then we got ready for church. We had our little sacrament and then Lucy sang Gethsemane for us. It was special! Later we talked on the phone with our families and then dyed some eggs. A couple of days later, my parents brought over an Easter gift for them. They all got new puzzles and loved them!

Quarantine Birthday

Today is my 31st birthday. It’s my quarantine birthday. And it was really good! Despite all the horrible coronavirus and everything that it has done to the economy, I feel like people are serving each other more. Even though I didn’t go out and do anything super fun or go out and eat, I felt very loved.

Spring Break 2020

Spring Break went a little differently than planned. We planned to go to camping in Moab with Dan's whole family. We planned to do fun Easter egg hunts with the fam and have Easter dinner. But...COVID-19 put our plans upside down...which is fine. We had fun anyways! We went camping at 5 Mile Pass. We went on lots of UTV rides, played t-ball, rode the dune buggy, and ate yummy food around the campfire. While it was very dusty, we enjoyed ourselves. It was so nice to have a change of scenery. Jack sure loved being outside, but fell a ton and got hurt. He loved putting rocks and dirt in his mouth and loved going on 4 wheeler rides with daddy. My parents came out for a ride with us. It was good to spend some time with them. It was nice to get away, because it was nice to come home and appreciate my house again.

California Trip during the Pandemic

Our country has declared a pandemic.
Starting in Wuhan, China is January an outbreak of Covid-19 spread.
I never thought it would reach here, but it has. First, Trump stopped all travel going and coming from China.
We heard it started to spread to Japan, Korea, and Italy.
People travelling from these places back to the US were quarantined for 14 days.
Everything seemed to be taken care of, but then cases started to arise in California and Washington.
Now today there is currently 29 cases in Utah who have tested positive for the coronavirus, but there are probably more.
Trump said today to limit groups of 10 or more to not gather together.
He has told us to stay home as much as possible.
Last week Our Governor, Herbert, cancelled all schooling and groups of 100 or more gathering together.
That affects so many things but especially church. Our worship will now be at home.
Our prophet has allowed all worthy priesthood melchizedek holders to bless and administer the sacrament in their own home.
Our prophet has been preparing us for this for over a year now.
We are so blessed to have modern day revelation from Jesus Christ to a living prophet.

When all this was going down, we were in california visiting Grandma Mathews.
We had plans to drive to Anaheim that night to go to Disneyland for the weekend.
Unfortunately Disneyland closed their doors on March 14, so we decided to not go on the 13th.
Plus it was rainy so it made it an easier decision not to go.
I took it really hard and was so sad about it but my kids took the news just fine and were happy to stay at Grandma’s for a couple more days.
Since it was rainy, we felt cooped up inside.
But any chance we got, we went outside to play on the cars.
We also went to a movie and to visit Dan’s cousin, Todd.
We made the best of it and it was so good to spend those days with Grandma and Kathy.
On the way home, we stopped at the 7 Magic mountains and then spent a day in St. George.
We went to Snow Canyon and scootered on a trail.
It was beautiful and so nice to get out in the nice weather!

Lincoln’s birthday and party

After Lucy and Daddy got home from school, we gave him his gifts. Dan and I gave him a brand new Spider Man bike. It's a little too big for him right now but he will grow into it. Grandma and Grandpa Tervort came to visit. They brought Lincoln some Paw Patrol gifts and visited with us. Then we all went to Chuck-A-Rama for Lincoln's birthday dinner (his request). His waitress was so sweet and made him a birthday dessert plate and then sang to him. I loved his facial expressions as they sang to him. He is so funny. We love our Lincoln cutie! I can't believe he is 5 and going to Kindergarten in the Fall!

We invited 9 of Lincoln's buddies to come Paw-ty! Lincoln is obsessed with Paw Patrol right now, so we themed his party all around that. We played games first–Pin the tail on Marshall, the Pup pup boogie, and did a cake walk. Then we did a pinata! After we had cake and icecream and he opened his presents. He was so excited after he opened each present. He gave each of his friends a hug.
