First days of school

My little Lucy is in 2nd grade this year and has a brand new teacher, Mrs. Williams. She was so excited to go back and see all of her school friends. I'm so happy they get to go in person.

Lincoln started Kindergarten a week later. He has Mrs. Brady who is the best. He was pretty excited to go too! He was a scared and stayed quiet the first day, but I think he will warm up soon. I hope not too much though then his teacher will have her hands extra full haha. He is such a good boy!
They are both wearing their masks and not complaining at all about them. They are awesome.

Bear Lake

Oh how I love Bear Lake. We have come here every summer. This year we came with my family. We rented a nice home that was right in Garden City. My grandma Moss came too. She did so good on the trip. We love having her around.
The first night we took the kayaks and paddle boards out to the lake. When we booked our dates, we didn't realize it was over raspberry days so everything was so busy. Luckily we found this rocky beach and had it mostly to ourselves. The next day, we went super early to get a beach spot at North beach. We kayaked, played in the sand and went boating! The kids had an absolute blast just playing in the sand with their cousins. Jack is all about the water and loved splashing in it. That night we went and got pizza at the Bear Trapper. Then after the kids went to bed, Dan Remi and I went on a one wheel/scooter ride. I've been loving these! While we were in a neighborhood, Dan spotted a little bunny. Remi picked him up and we took him home. We named him Timmy. Well unfortunately, he didn't eat or drink much and died the next night. It was so sad!

On Sandee's birthday we went on a short hike. It was perfect for the kids and they had fun climbing on the trees. We hung out the rest of the day played games, relaxed, played volleyball and went on a UTV ride. Kaleb and Lincoln fell asleep on the ride and rested their heads on Jack, but Jack didn't like it so much and kept pushing them away.

On Monday, the beach wasn't as busy so we took our time getting to the beach. We spent a long time there. I was proud of myself for getting more confidence on the wakeboard and going out of the wake a few times. I love the water at Bear Lake. It was so smooth.  We also went on the tube with the babies. They weren't so sure of it. Oh and we had some awesome tube rides with the girls. It was so fun to get kicked off.

The whole trip was awesome. It was so great to hang out with my family and make good memories with them!

Fish Lake

A few days before our trip to Fish Lake, I came down with some symptoms- runny nose, sore throat, achy body... we had to assume the worst before going on a trip with our parents so I went and got tested for Covid. The actual test wasn't too terrible although very uncomfortable. It was all the waiting that was the worst! Thankfully I got my test back the next day and it came back negative. Yay!
So we were set to go to Fish Lake!

We had some great camping spots and Bowery Creek. They were shady and super close to the lake. We went bike riding along the trail by the lake, visited the lodge, rented a pontoon boat and went fishing, got ice cream, did smores, played games, did puzzles, went for scenic drives, and took the kayaks out on the lake. My kids were so lucky to have both of their grandparents there. It was fun to be with both of them! We had a great time together. Fish Lake is beautiful.

Tervort reunion

We had a blast in Mount Pleasant with the whole Tervort fam. It has been a LONG time since we were all together because of...covid of course. We all camped out at the campground below so that dave and kathy could stay at the cabin by themselves. We did go up there a lot to play on the zipline and swings.
We went on a lot of four wheeler rides because that is all Jack asked for. We also played bingo and Julie and Kathy gave gifts for winning. The kids loved that. They played with hula hoops and squirt guns. They constantly played with their cousins. They had a blast all day long.
One day we went to Palisades reservoir and played in the water, played 9 square, went paddle boating and kayaking.
On the 4th of July, Dave and Kathy rented out the Mount Pleasant pool for an hour. That was a blast! Lincoln was so brave and went down the slide by himself. Lucy jumped off the diving board and Jack had a blast in the kiddie area. After we went back to camp, hung out, played games and ate dinner. Then we went and searched for fireworks and watched an amazing show from a distance. Jack kept saying "yay!" and "pretty". He loved it. We love the country we live in!

Lagoon

Lagoon was a blast! We haven't been in over 4 years so it was so fun to experience it again and see how fun Lucy, Lincoln and Jack had. We went with the Sorensons and also met up with my friend Mary Jane and her family there. We stayed in kiddie land most of the time which was perfect. The lines were short, the rides were shaded and the kids had a blast. Jack was unsure on most of them, but he was ok hanging out in the stroller. We went on the Log Flume to cool off and got totally drenched which had Lincoln scream like a banshee. He was so upset. Luckily I brought a change of clothes for him. Mindy, Mary Jane and I snuck off for a minute to go ride the Cannibal. It was so awesome and so scary. After that, the husbands got impatient and Dan got nervous of the crowds and covid, so we went home like at 4. But it was a good day and so fun to relive some of my childhood memories. Wearing a mask wasn't too bad either. I want to go back!
