Santa!

We saw Santa earlier in the month at the Riverwoods, but we were lucky to get a house visit from Santa 2 days before Christmas! He already knew what the kids wanted but he just wanted to make sure they were still being good. Jack wouldn't sit on his lap for too long but he never got upset. He really liked Santa and the candy canes he brought. We love Santa!

It’s a girl!

On December 23rd, Dan and I went to find out the gender of our baby! I had great anxiety leading up to this moment and just prayed I'd be ok with whatever gender it was. Lucy hoped for a girl, and the boys were back and forth. We went in and the tech couldn't tell because of the way it was positioned. But the tech was new, so the more experienced tech sat down and told us right away what it was. She said, "it's a girl!" I said, are you sure? That part right there looks like a weiner. She said nope these are the parts that are definitely lady parts. I was in disbelief and started to tear up because of how excited I was. Dan was sure excited too! I was on cloud 9!!! After Dan and I went to zurchers to get a balloon full of confetti to surprised the kids. They all made their final guesses and Lucy popped the balloon. Lucy jumped up and down exclaiming, "its a girl!!". The boys were excited too. Yay!!!

Luminaria

We invited my whole family to come to Luminaria with us. It is such a beautiful light display that was jsut as cool as the first time we saw it. Since it was 3 days before Christmas, it was extra busy so we couldn't really stay and enjoy one spot for too long which was unfortunate. My favorite spot to linger is by the statues of Christ but it was so busy. We saw the First Vision statues and Lucy knew what one Jesus was and what one God was. It was cute. And then she said it was because of their beards haha.
Jack really loved the light toy that Grandpa bought for him and he especially loved the light tunnel. He begged to get out of his stroller so I let me walk through it. Even though everything was rushed, we still had a great time!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a little different this year. Normally we would be visiting both families, but this year the Tervort side all did their own dinner. It was sad we didn't see them. But it was nice to have a relaxing morning, then we went to my family's in the afternoon. We all wore masks, and spaced a part when eating. Unfortunately Mindy and Erika couldn't make it this year because they were quarantining. But they stopped by in their car to say hi. We had a delicious dinner and felt so grateful that we could be together!
