Lucy is 5!

4 1/2;
  • camping makes my heart full of love!
  • I was telling Lucy that daddy's team lost. She says I know what they can do! They can get better running shoes so they can run faster.
  • I didn't listen to Satan I listened to Jesus
  • Opera singers are pretty impressive
  • Lucy asks me, mom what’s pregnant? I say when you have a baby in your tummy. She asks, how do you get pregnant. I change the subject.

5 years:
  • Lincoln you arent following the commandments. You have to be nice and share your toys. You also can’t hit or bite!
  • How many is 5? How many is 9? (Ave constantly asks how many things are- how do you answer this?)
  • She is always asking what words mean. It is hard thinking of meanings for some words! I need to be in my vocabulary game all the time- what is remember,
  • Lucy saw a boy from her preschool at Walmart. She said hi to him and then turned beet red and hid behind the grocery cart. It was so cute! First time I’ve seen her blush. And poor girl, because she got that gene from me.
  • That takes for a long time.
  • Grandmas babysitting me? I’m blushing!
  • I tell Lucy let’s think of names for baby brother. She says how about Hobo?
  • Lucy lost her first tooth 9/14

New Year Date

Dan and I decided to treat ourselves to a little overnight date. Julie was so kind to watch our kids! We stayed at a hotel downtown Salt Lake. We went ice skating at the Gallivan Plaza first. We haven't been here since we got engaged! It was fun! Then we went shopping for a little bit at City Creek to kill time until our reservation at the Melting Pot. We've heard a lot of hype about this place so we decided to give it a try. The first course was a cheese fondue. So yummy! The main course was a broth that you cooked your meat into. It was ok, but I'm not a huge fan of boiled meat. And the last course was a chocolate fondue which was my favorite! It was an experience, but we'd probably be back for the dessert fondue only.
The next day we went and saw The Greatest Showman, which was awesome! It's probably our favorite movie! It was a good time to get away! Love hanging out with my BF.

New Years Eve

Our last New Years party was so fun, so we decided to do one again and invite more people. We invited my whole family (minus my parents). We ate yummy food, the kids played dance dance in the basement, and we played a few board games. Then when it was almost the New Year (in New York), we had some drinks and shouted Happy New Year! Then we had a wicked awesome dance party where we followed the leader around the island. It was so fun! Goodbye 2017! Hello 2018!

Christmas Day 2017

That morning Dan and I found ourselves all ready and excited for the kids to come down. Where were they?! Lincoln was still asleep but Lucy had waited patiently in her room just like we asked her too. She was so excited! We also got a white Christmas which was such a blessing! We read them the Nativity store and reminded them who Christmas was about. Then we took a stair picture and they ran down to open presents! They were so excited to see their new tents up! We could've ended with that! We had them take turns opening gifts and we made them give us hugs after each one. It was so fun to see their excitement on their faces after every one. Kids make Christmas so much better!
After we went to the Tervort's for lunch. We opened gifts and spent some time with family. Then we went to the Moss side where we did the same thing. We were so spoiled with gifts and are feeling very blessed this year!
