Christmas Activities

Our December was packed full of fun activities! Here's what we did:

ZOO LIGHTS
For the KSL party, they invited all their clients to see Zoo Lights for free. After being stuck in traffic fora  long time, we finally got there. It was a very very cold night so Lincoln was not happy. The first stop, we went and saw Santa which made him more unhappy. Lucy loved seeing him though. Then we walked around to see the lights and to find the stations where KSL gave out gifts to the kids and where we could enter to win a prize. Then we went on the Merry Go Round– it was freezing! Basically we saw lots of animal lights and no animals. It was worth it!

Nutcracker
My mom and I took Lucy to go see the Nutcracker and the Capitol Theater. Lucy was so excited to dress up and see the ballerinas. She was so intrigued by it and loved seeing the Mouse King die and Mother Buffoon. She got a little antsy near the end, but did so good during the whole performance. She was so sweet to us and gave me and my mom lots of hugs and kisses. She felt very special!

Festival of Lights
We always make sure to go to the Festival of Lights! It's tradition. The kids love pointing out all the light figures.

Luminaria
Luminaria is new at Thanksgiving Point this year. I was a little hesitant to go because it was outside and after zoo lights, I wasn't about to do that again. But since it was free, we went. My parents last minute came with us too. I'm so glad we went, because it was unbelievable! They had little sections of lights like the candy cane forest, gumdrop trees, a garden, miniature pine trees... It was all so detailed and amazing. The best part was going through the Christ Sculpture Garden. The music and feeling changed. The spirit was so strong. Lucy kept saying the cutest things like, "is that Jesus?" I love Him, "Will Jesus forget me?". It was so sweet and the sculptures were breathtaking!
The whole experience was AWESOME!

Provo Lights
Another new activity we did this year was drive through the Provo Light show out by the lake. They had all their lights syncing with the music. It was cool!

Chuck A Rama Christmas Party

This year the Chuck Theme was Vegas Night out. We had a roulette table and 2 black jack tables going, we had a smoothie and soda bar, fake cigarettes, pizza, prizes and at the end of the night a magician performed. It was also a ugly sweater party, so I took pics at the beginning of everyone in their ugly sweaters. Then Dan and I played some roulette. Everyone got their own set of chips. Then if you won more, you got more tickets to enter into the prize table. Dan and I aren't very good at winning, but managed to have as much as we started with and entered those tickets. The drawing didn't go in our favor this year. There was some cool prizes given away! But that was ok. I actually won the award for the ugliest sweater! Thanks Kaylee! She let me borrow her sweater.
After the prizes were given out, the magician came and entertained us. He was a funny guy!
It was a very fun night! I love seeing my family, seeing my coworkers and the managers. I have an awesome job!

Big Give

For the Big Give this year, my family and I did some shopping for the homeless. We went to WalMart and bought what we would buy for our family– clothes, kids toys, etc. Lucy was being so cute and picking out things that she would love and saying, oh they will love this! After shopping for about 45 minutes, we met at the register and checked out.

Ward Christmas Party

The Primary was in charge of the entertainment for the ward Christmas party again this year. We had a handle on it a little better this time because we had a few more weeks to prepare than last time. We basically did the same nativity scene but added a few more songs. Sadie got to hold a real baby. It was the sweetest thing to watch her look at him and to see Gavin stroke his head. At the end of the nativity, we had the Junior primary who was wearing white come on stage and sign and sing Silent Night. The room was so peaceful and had a strong spirit. It was wonderful to be a part of it. I love my Primary!

Lincoln @ 21 Months

Some things about Lincoln at 21 Months:
  • He Says mine, bite, ride, hi, bye, daddy, mama
  • He is Getting better at repeating words back.
  • When I don't get him food fast enough or if he gets upset with me he whines and then growls at me. It always makes me laugh.
  • He Laughs whenever he farts or someone else burps or farts. He's all boy.
  • We took the family to see secret life of pets. Lincoln did pretty good in the beginning strapped in his car seat and eating popcorn. He was really into the movie and yelled out Ball after the dogs on the show did. It was cute!
  • He has always loves to scream. But now he likes to do it when it's the worst timing possible like right in the middle of a musical number at church. And it's like he's growl screaming. Heaven help me! ðŸ˜±
  • He's a really good helper. He puts his clothes in the hamper, his shoes in the shoe basket, he brings me my phone, he puts legos away. He's a good kid.
  • He always does what Lucy does. She is his example. Good or bad.
  • he's kind of a little bully lately and likes to hit and scratch all of us. We get mad and ask him to say sorry and he keeps doing it. ðŸ˜¡ stinker!
  • He likes nursery now! I came in today and he had no problem and kept sitting there eating his treat.
