Dan was really excited to go hunting this year. He did a lot of scouting with Tony, Jason and Justin. They would get up at 3:30 in the morning to get up on the mountain to look for deer. They were very confident that they found a good spot to hunt when the time came. A day before the hunt started, we came up and camped with them. We found a spot up Payson Canyon to set up the trailer and Tony and Emily set theirs up too. IT WAS FREEZING. I do not like camping when it's cold and I was being a big baby. The kids had a blast though and played constantly with their cousins. Dan carved them some cool swords that they played with. We went on rides, ate yummy food, had good convos and we made the best of it, but I was glad to go home. Dan and the boys stayed of course and went hunting fo the next 2 days. Unfortunately not one of them shot a deer. I felt bad for him cuz of how much time he put into it.

Labor Day weekend
We wanted to take the boat out for the last time this season, so we decided to make a weekend of it and go stay at the cabin. We invited Julie, Jamie and Kaylee's families and Luke and Annie to come with us. First we went to Jordanelle to go boating. Unfortunately it was really windy and there were white caps so we were afraid to take out the boat. Instead we played on the beach. The kids got in the water and had a good time with their cousins. Then we went to the cabin and hung out. It was fun to watch the cousins discover a new place.
We cooked up some burgers and ate outside. The weather was pretty nice still. After dinner, we saw a bat flying through the cabin. Dan immediately went and grabbed the BB gun. He missed the first time and screamed when it flew away, but he got the little sucker the second time. It was very entertaining to watch him! After the kids all watched a movie and had a sleepover in the main room. The next day I took the kids for a little hike around the cabin and to the big rock. Then the Spanglers and Kaylee left and the Horrocks came (covid times). We took the Horrocks to Rockport Lake to go boating. It was still windy but we went for it this time. We were only out for about an hour, but the boys all got to go tubing and they loved it! It is so fun to watch them on the tube because they like to get bumped off. They got some serious air and one point but didn't fall off. I was a little bummed that I couldn't go wake boarding cuz of the choppiness, but we still had a great time!
