Here’s to a better year 2021

Mindy and Remi came out our way for a little New Years Eve party. We went to Dan's school and played pickleball while the kids played in the gym. Then we got dinner and hung out together at the house. The boys watched the Jazz game and Mindy and I went through baby boy clothes. We celebrated the New Year at 8:30. Mindy and I found these huge goblets in my basement that I was going to DI and thought it would be fun to use them for sparkling cider. It was pretty hilarious to drink from them. We danced and rang in the new year. Hoping for a better year than last!

Christmas 2020

Dan and I woke at 8 AM but the kids had already been awake for awhile. They were patient and played upstairs as I got breakfast prepped. We got Jack up and read the nativity story, took the stair picture and let then let them come down! Unfortunately Santa's elves left a missing piece out of Jack's car ramp (one wheel) but he was excited for the ramp. Santa brought Lincoln a Captain America Shield and Lucy rollerblades. We got Jack a lego train that he was super excited about. It was so fun to see his reaction to everything. He was even excited about clothes. We got Lincoln bey-blades which were hard to use at first (dad had a hard time and wanted to return them) but mom figured it out and now Lincoln is a champ at them and loves them. We got Lucy gear for her rollerblades. She is really good at them and its only been a few days. We also got her a foot spa which I liked! Dan and I got each other a new mattress and Dan bought a new toy hauler. We ate breakfast (german pancakes) and then relaxed and played with toys. Then Grandma and Grandpa Moss came with GG Moss. We visited with them for a while until we had and leave to go to the Tervort's. This year we had a specific time to go visit since Covid. It was kind of nice though to spend quality time with just Dave and Kathy. We got them a nativity pyramid. They got the kids a transformer, tools and a sleepover kit. They loved them! When we got home, Dan made a delicious steak dinner. Then we hung out and play with toys. It was a wonderful day and I'm so happy no one was sick!

Christmas Eve 2020

We were all so excited when my dad tested native for covid- now we could all be together and party. We went to my parents house where we watched our kids videos and we announced the gender of our baby! Everyone is so excited for Lucy to have a sister. After we ate yummy food- prime rib of course. I also made the peppermint dessert my Grandma Moss always made and Sandee made Grandma Soderberg's orange sweet rolls. Yum! After the kids sung the nativity song and then my mom told us a story. We did gifts after that. We gave my parents a large canvas print of the family, an echo show and prints. They were so generous and gave us a very nice amount of money. Wow. We feel so blessed. The kids were excited when they got their gifts. Lucy got a jewelry kit and legos, Lincoln got a transformer and Jack got a Daniel Tiger Trolley. We all changed into our matching buffalo plaid pjs and took pictures. We had a good time spending time as a family.

Santa!

We saw Santa earlier in the month at the Riverwoods, but we were lucky to get a house visit from Santa 2 days before Christmas! He already knew what the kids wanted but he just wanted to make sure they were still being good. Jack wouldn't sit on his lap for too long but he never got upset. He really liked Santa and the candy canes he brought. We love Santa!

It’s a girl!

On December 23rd, Dan and I went to find out the gender of our baby! I had great anxiety leading up to this moment and just prayed I'd be ok with whatever gender it was. Lucy hoped for a girl, and the boys were back and forth. We went in and the tech couldn't tell because of the way it was positioned. But the tech was new, so the more experienced tech sat down and told us right away what it was. She said, "it's a girl!" I said, are you sure? That part right there looks like a weiner. She said nope these are the parts that are definitely lady parts. I was in disbelief and started to tear up because of how excited I was. Dan was sure excited too! I was on cloud 9!!! After Dan and I went to zurchers to get a balloon full of confetti to surprised the kids. They all made their final guesses and Lucy popped the balloon. Lucy jumped up and down exclaiming, "its a girl!!". The boys were excited too. Yay!!!
